ADMIRAL CHURCH ORGAN

Admiral Church’s pipe organ has been a beloved part of music at Admiral for 60 years. The organ has twenty one ranks of pipes from Balcom and Vaughan Organ Builders and a four-manual Rodgers electronic console, which is “married” to the pipes and additionally can play hundreds of sampled electronic voices as well. This gives Admiral's marvelous organist Sam Peters a huge palette from which to choose for playing hymns, classical works  and his own compositions.

ADMIRAL CHOIR

Our small but mighty choir is devoted to being “music ministers” for our congregation, uplifting spirits and singing in alignment with Pastor Andrew’s messages each week.  The Choir is led by longtime choral conductor Pamela Gerke and accompanied by our talented pianist/organist, Sam Peters.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm.  Currently we meet via Zoom and look forward to resuming in-person rehearsals.  While meeting remotely we’ve continued to develop our choral skills, learn new songs, and enjoy singing together, while deepening our friendships and mutual support for each other.  Throughout the pandemic, the Admiral Choir has recorded music for Sunday worship services online, each singer recording their own part from home. This is not, however, a requirement for singers and we welcome new members whether or not they record remotely.

Our repertoire includes a range of inspirational music that includes contemporary songs, traditional African-American spirituals, classic anthems, favorite hymns, and chants, such as from Taizé services.  Music reading is not required (although you’ll learn along the way), and singers of all skill levels are welcome.  When our church opens its doors again for in-person services, our Choir will be there every Sunday to lift our joyful voices!

CHIMES & PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE

Our Ensemble is currently on pandemic hiatus and will resume meeting when our church reopens for in-person services.  We generally meet twice a month after Sunday worship and perform in church every few weeks as accompaniment for service music.  We play a variety of instruments including Tone Chimes, hand percussion, and drums.  We welcome anyone who can shake a chime or hit something with a stick!
